Abstract

Despite the important health consequences of problem gambling such as suicide, over-indeptedness, delinquency or family problems, there is currently no drug approval available for the treatment of problem gambling. Today, cognitive-behavioral therapies (CBT) are considered the "gold standard" for psychological treatment of problem gambling. However, some people seem resistant to CBT alone. New programs integrating mindfulness practices and CBT could be particularly promising as a treatment for problem gambling.
